Over the years, as inspiration has struck me, I’ve dabbled in fiction writing. It’s not something I’ve done a lot or done professionally, but the short (and longer) stories I’ve written are published here to showcase my creative capabilities and share what I feel are compelling stories with others.
Dan Patterson is a character I created in college, reflecting my aspirations at the time to become a journalist. These are just two of the stories I’ve written featuring him, with more to come.
STATUS is an idea I had a few years ago, about a world that has commodified the idea of class rankings into a tangible and and official caste system. It never appeared to me as one big story, but a series of vignettes that expose diferent aspects of life in such a society.
In The Phantom Menace, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are sent to Naboo to investigate what’s happening there. But what did they know going in and who gathered that information? The idea that there were specialist Jedi who did the ground work before a formal mission intrigued me, so I set out to write a story about that kind of character.
